Should We Use A Crib Comforter?
As a new mom, I started to get nervous about some of the decisions I had to make when it came to the gear that I needed to buy for my baby. While there are a variety of staples that most parents realize they have to have for their little ones, there is always a few pieces that you could take or leave. I was wondering whether or not a lot of parents really use a crib comforter for their baby, especially because there are so many safety concerns that you need to take into consideration when you have a baby sleeping in a crib.
After shopping for nursery furniture, the next step is to look for the best bedding to go along with it. With a lot of choices in crib sheets and bumpers, I started to notice that there were still a lot of companies that offered a crib comforter to go along with the bedding sets. Years ago I never would have given a second thought to a crib comforter, yet now that I have been reading up more and more on baby safety, there seem to be a whole lot of mixed reviews as to whether or not you should use a comforter in the crib. Some parents will get them solely for decoration and not put them in the crib with their little ones at night.
What To Do?
I decided that I was going to keep the crib comforter out of the crib when my child is in there sleeping. For now. As she starts to get older and is able to crawl and move about pretty freely on her own, I will be putting the comforter in there with her at night. The recommendation for parents of infants is that they remove any loose bedding from the sleep zone during the evening hours as well as nap time. You may wonder what to do about keeping baby warm, as did I. Luckily, there are all sorts of great one piece sleep sacks that you can put on your child at night to keep them as snug as a bug in a rug, or sack actually.
But I Love Many Styles of Crib Comforter!
So, buy one or more! There are some incredibly soft and sweet crib comforter designs, and if you want to have one or more for your child’s nursery then you should buy them. All the while, just keep in mind the safety suggestions and that you might want to simply use them as a cozy blanket during waking hours on the floor for playtime or even for keeping as a focal point of the room by hanging it on the wall.
If you really love to design a room from start to finish, then there is no reason why you cannot buy a full crib bedding set that has everything from crib sheets and bumpers to crib comforters and skirts to match the curtains. There are plenty of incredible designs that you can pick from so that you can make the nursery a beautiful little oasis for your little one.
Where To Shop for Crib Comforter
You will find that there are options in crib comforters wherever you can find baby gear and bedding. I have found that a lot of the local boutique shops in my area have incredible designs even though they are a bit pricier than one may expect to spend. If you are looking for a particular design to go along with your theme in the baby’s room, I would suggest searching for the best bedding and matching crib comforter online.
