Baby Shower Ideas for Boys
When my BFF told me she was expecting I was over the moon with happiness for her. She’s had some real trials and tribulations to get to this point. Thank goodness for her awesomely supportive husband, who wants to have a family as much as she does. She’s been through a lot of disappointment, so when I say this pregnancy is a happy event, it doesn’t even begin to describe the celebration around this pregnancy. I got together with her mother and sister to plan her shower and I always thought that we were a lot alike. I never knew how different we were until we each started throwing baby shower ideas for boys .
Blue is the Only Color for Boys
My friend’s mom is a sweet woman, but a little stuck in the past. She insisted that no one will understand this baby is a boy if we don’t make the theme of the shower blue. I told his name of Jacob might be a big giveaway he isn’t a girl. She insisted that blue be the main theme color. It wasn’t my original idea, but I finally said,”Okay” because I was tired of butting heads about a single color when we have so much more to plan.
Bad Baby Shower Ideas for Boys
I really love my BFF’s little sister, but she had a really weird suggestion. When the mommy-to-be was a teen, she was a white-faced, poetry quoting goth. Well we’re 12-years past that point, and I don’t think she even owns anything black at this point. So I was somewhat stunned when her sister suggested a black and white Beetlejuice baby shower for her coming nephew. Yeah, it floored me too. I didn’t want to be insulting, so I just said, “Wow, that’s a great idea, let me put it on the short list here that we’re making a decision from.” Since I didn’t offer any resistance, she seemed pretty happy and didn’t have any further awesome contributions to the baby shower planning.
Good Baby Shower Ideas for Boys
Together with my friend’s mom, I think we hashed out the perfect baby shower. We’re doing a couple’s shower that will include the daddy-to-be too, and husbands and partners are invited to this shower. That was one thing my BFF was very firm about. She wanted everyone included in this celebration. I’ve never done a couple’s shower before, but I can’t imagine how different it can be, and the more the merrier right? Since the parents-to-be are big nature-lovers and involved heavily in supporting the local zoo, we thought a wild, safari-type of baby shower would fit the bill, complete with cute animals on the cake and favors. We can also work that all-important blue color in as a background for the animals. But I think green will probably be a prevalent color too.
What We Decided
Finally, even her little sister was into discussing the final baby shower planning. We are having a giraffe cake made like this one. For favors we are giving away little bonsai trees, soy candles, and seed packets, along with some organic chocolate treats. We just need to plan a menu now, get those invitations designed, and we’re done. I think this is going to be a different yet very fun celebration for little Jacob.
I am having fun planning this shower. Sometimes it’s not easy to plan with others, but I think we are working together well after we bounced baby shower ideas for boys off each other. I can’t wait to see how this couple’s shower goes.
