Baby Shower Cakes for Boys
I have been to at least 50 baby showers in the past 10 years with family, friends, and co-workers. I have seen some fantastically put-together baby showers, and I’ve seen some baby showers where some of the choices for themes and refreshments (a keg at a baby shower, seriously?), have made me cringe. Now, for the first time, I am planning a baby shower for my best friend who is having her first baby and it’s a going to be a boy. I have four daughters of my own, so I am really enjoying exploring the “boy” side of baby world. It’s uncharted territory for me, and I’m loving every minute of it. I am making a diaper cake for my friend, but I also wanted to include a cake for the shower guests to enjoy as well. With that in mind, here are my top choices in baby shower cakes for boys.
Giraffe-Style Baby Shower Cakes for Boys
So many of the baby shower cake ideas I looked at were blue fondant type cakes. Dark blue, light blue, with blue decorations. It got really boring. I don’t want to give her just a blue cake for her precious baby boy. Then I ran across this precious giraffe cake. It’s the cutest not-blue baby boy cake, with giraffe spots, and a nice safari theme. These cake is topped with a fondant giraffe that is too cute.
Peek-a-Boo Baby Boy Baby Shower Cake
This was one of the most unusual cakes I found, and I thought it was truly adorable. It’s a two-tiered cake, with each layer being square like a present. In the top layer is a sweet little baby face peering out.

Right after I saw the giraffe cake, I ran across this precious elephant baby shower cake. It’s so sweet, and it made me remember loving the movie, “Dumbo” as a small child. This is a small grey elephant that is laying on his tummy looking totally yummy and ready to make your shower guests say, “Aww.” All kidding aside, this is a really cute cake and it doesn’t look that difficult to make, so if you feel like your cake cutting skills aren’t up to par (believe me when I say I’m doing good to make cupcakes that aren’t scary to eat), you can show this image to your local baker and have it made.
Little Boy Footprints on a Shower Cake
I really liked this cake because it could be done in any colors of fondant and look absolutely precious. It’s just a simple two-tier cake with the cutest little baby feet on the sides as decoration. This is a cake that would be great for any baby shower actually, as you could just change the color of the fondant and decorations to match a boy or girl, or unisex especially if it’s a unisex or baby shower where the mommy-to-be is going to reveal the sex of her baby.
